Dr. Kazunori Hoshino Awarded an NSF Grant for a New 3D Imaging Method

Professor Kazunori Hoshino (PI) received a new NSF grant (NSF #2621762) with a total of $550,000 for three years, beginning September 1, 2026. The project is entitled “Panoramic Wavefield Recovery via Conformal Aperture Synthesis Sensor Arrays.” He will work with Professor Guoan Zheng (Co-PI) of UConn Biomedical Engineering to develop a new lensless 3D imaging method using curved sensor arrays. The technology aims to provide high-resolution, wide-field imaging of curved and three-dimensional objects, with potential applications in advanced manufacturing and biomedical imaging.
